Continuing Education (CE) Deadlines | Caregiver Benefits Support | Common Training Questions (IPs)
If you were hired between May 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022, your current Basic Training deadline will likely extend beyond April 30, 2023.
SEIU 775 Benefits Group, DSHS, SEIU 775 and other partners are currently working on a plan that will let you continue working as a paid caregiver while you complete your Basic Training requirement.
You will get an email with your deadline once it is updated. Or, you can check here for the most current deadline information.
Washington state extended the deadline for caregiver training requirements because of COVID-19 impacts. New Basic Training deadlines have been provided to caregivers with outstanding requirements.
If you do not finish your training by your deadline, you will not be able to continue working as a paid caregiver.

Basic Training Deadlines
The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) set new deadlines for caregivers based on your hire date.
If you have questions about your deadline, please contact your employer. Agency Providers (APs) should contact their agency. Individual Providers (IPs) should contact Consumer Direct Care Network Washington (CDWA).

The January 31, 2023 Basic Training deadline for caregivers hired between 8/17/2019 to 9/30/2020 has now passed. If you have missed your deadline, you will not be paid for any care you give your client until you complete your training requirement.
- If you are an AP, you should call your employer to learn more about your next steps.
- If you are an IP, you can complete your training within 60 days of your missed deadline and get paid for training completed within this time. Learn more by visiting the Common Training Questions page.

How to Enroll in Basic Training 70 and 7
- Individual Providers (IPs): Enroll by calling the Member Resource Center (MRC) at 1-866-371-3200 or by emailing mrc@myseiubenefits.org. They are available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Agency Providers (APs): Enroll by contacting your employer.
How to Enroll in Basic Training 30 and 9
You can enroll in and complete both trainings online.
To begin:
- Go to myseiu.be/online22.
- Enter the email address you gave when you were hired into the Email field.
- Type Summer2022 as your password. Once you log in, you will be asked to update your temporary password and confirm your contact information.
- Once you are online, you can complete your training from your online dashboard.
