M has a diverse background in education, health promotion, and policy and advocacy. M worked at two University of Washington affiliated centers, one that trained health care providers working with seniors and the other that conducted community-based dissemination research to promote the health of older adults. She was a K-12 educator for eight years, and most recently, worked for a federal educational policy and advocacy organization in Washington, D.C. M holds a Master's degree in Educational Psychology. Outside of work, M keeps busy by attempting to learn how to play the harmonica, bike touring with her family, and exploring local “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants for fantastic food.
