Updated Version of Basic Training 70 (Basic Training 70, v4.0)
Basic Training 70, v4.0 has been updated with caregiver feedback to create a course that better fits your busy schedule and preferred learning preferences. This version of the course gives you:
- More in-person skills practice time.
- A flexible learning experience that combines in-person, self-paced online learning and webinar formats.
- You will be loaned an iPad to complete your online work.
- The tools needed to finish your training and successfully pass your Home Care Aide (HCA) certification exam.

Basic Training 70, v4.0 is currently only available in Seattle, Richland and Vancouver and offered in English, without interpretation options. You must be able to attend the first class to take this training. To learn more, see Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I enroll for Basic Training 70, version 4?
If you are an Agency Provider (AP), please contact your agency to enroll.
If you are an Individual Provider (IP), you can log into My Benefits and go to the Caregiver Learning Center to enroll or call the Member Resource Center (MRC) at 1-866-371-3200.
How is version 4 of Basic Training 70 different from version 3?
Basic Training 70, v4.0 has been updated with caregiver feedback to create a course that fits your busy schedule and learning preferences. More information:
- 35 hours are in-person classes that take place in the classroom and are led by an instructor.
- 6.5 hours are instructor-led Zoom webinars.
- 28.5 hours are online courses you take at your own speed.
Please note that version 4 is currently only available in limited locations and in English. Additional locations and language options will be added over time.
How do I get my username (BG Person ID) for my login?
You will get an email with your username (BG Person ID) and temporary password.

How long is Basic Training 70, version 4?
Training takes approximately 5-6 weeks to complete.
What languages is Basic Training 70, version 4 available in?
Basic Training 70, version 4 is currently only offered in English and interpreters will not be provided. Course materials are also only available in English.
If a language other than English is needed or you need language support, please take Basic Training 70, version 3, which is available in Arabic, Amharic, Cambodian-Khmer, Chinese, English, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Somali and Vietnamese. Interpretation services are also available for additional languages for Basic Training 70, version 3.
