SEIU 775 Benefits Group is partnering with Kaiser Permanente, your health plan, to offer a free in-home Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) kit to screen for colon cancer to eligible caregivers.*

You will receive your at-home FIT kit (stool collection test), that checks for blood in your stool. Please complete the test within one week of receiving it. Click here for instructions on how to use the kit.

Screening for colon cancer is important:

  • Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in men and women, and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S.
  • Regular screening is an important step in finding signs of cancer early when it is more treatable.

If you have already had colon cancer screening (either a FIT kit in the last year OR a colonoscopy in the last ten years), you do not need to do the FIT kit when it comes to your home. Please call Kaiser’s Screening Information Line at 1-206-326-3430 or 1-800-442-8925 if you have been screened before.

If you did not receive a kit and want one, please contact your Primary Care Physician to request one.

*Caregivers will receive a Fit Kit if they:

  • Are 50 to 75-years-old.
  • Have Kaiser Permanente health coverage through SEIU 775 Benefits Group.
  • Are due, or overdue, for a screening.

Screening will happen in waves. Some people will get a Fit Kit in March 2021. Others will get Fit Kits in a few months. If you are due or overdue for a colon cancer screening and have not received your kit, please contact your doctor to request one.
