Apprenticeship and Training Featured in IEDC’s ‘Future Ready’ Report
SEIU 775 Benefits Group has been highlighted as one of several “important workforce initiatives” in the International Economic Development Council’s Future Ready report.
Overview: Sponsored by a labor-management partnership including the Service Employees International Union 775 (SEIU 775), the State of Washington and private industry, the SEIU 775 Benefits Group has created the nation’s first large-scale career pathway program for home care aides, training over 50,000 students per year. Since 2010, it has delivered more than 6 million hours of essential homecare. By earning certification while strengthening their capacity to handle the increasingly complex needs of clients, graduates can command higher pay, opportunities to advance and greater respect for their work.
