The federal government now requires that health plans cover the cost of over-the-counter, at-home COVID-19 tests, either at your doctor’s office or through reimbursement up to $12 per test*.
If you have healthcare coverage through SEIU 775 Benefits Group, your plan will cover up to 8 at-home COVID-19 tests for you and each child dependent on your coverage, if you have them, every month.
*Due to current limited supply of tests, reimbursements will not have a price cap. As the supply increases, the new law will enforce the $12 per test limit. You will get an update as soon as the $12 cap is in place.

How many tests can I get reimbursed for?
Health plans must cover 8 individual at-home COVID-19 tests per person enrolled in the plan, per month. Some single packages will be packaged with multiple tests.
Example: If you and your child dependent are both enrolled in your plan, you each could get up to 8 tests per month, for a total of 16 tests.
My dependent is also enrolled. Are they also eligible for tests?
Yes. Plans must cover 8 individual tests per participant (including child dependents), per month.
Example: A caregiver with 3 dependent children can get up to 32 tests per month.
How much will I be reimbursed for tests?
Each plan is required to reimburse up to $12 per individual test. Due to current nationwide short supply, reimbursements are provided right now without a price cap. Please keep in mind that the $12 cap may be applied in the future when supplies return to appropriate levels.
