Your Health Care Won’t Be Affected by Shift to Kaiser

If you believe you have recently received a Kaiser Permanente termination notice in error, please call the Member Resource Center at 1-866-371-3200.

On Feb. 1, 2017, Kaiser Permanente officially acquired Group Health, which provides health coverage to many of Washington’s Home Care Aides.

While the name is changing, most everything about your coverage will remain the same. You will still have access to the same health care plan, doctors, and facilities. Some things to know:

  • The plan you’ve selected won’t change. Your premiums, benefits, and costs will stay the same in 2017. So will your member number.
  • You can keep your doctors. You and your family will continue to receive care from the doctors and care teams you count on. These relationships matter — to us as well as to you.
  • You can still get care at the locations you visit now. The name on the buildings will change, but the same convenient clinics — with doctors’ offices, lab, pharmacy, and X-ray usually under one roof — will continue to serve you. The same goes for online services, including the mobile app, your electronic health record and secure messaging with your doctor. The name will change, but the functions will remain the same.

Beginning in March 2017, you’ll start to see the Kaiser Permanente name in medical centers, on staff apparel, on the website, and other places.

In March, you’ll get a Kaiser Permanente identification card (click here to see a sample). Your member number will be the same, but you’ll use this new card for all your health care services. Your existing card is still valid, so please continue to use it until you receive your new Kaiser Permanente replacement card.
