Video - One Question

This beautiful video comes from our curriculum partner Sproutflix. In it, 35 people with developmental disabilities answer the same one question: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would you change?

The production crew for this film included eight people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The film was shot over 5 days as part of Sprout’s Make-A-Movie Program.

Enrollment open now for free, English Innovations language classes from OneAmerica

OneAmerica's English Innovations language program is open to new participants! Classes start Oct. 15 and consist of 12-week cycles that begin and end with standardized English language testing on reading, speaking, writing, listening in order to document engagement and progress. Students are matched up with volunteer OneAmerica members and friends, who are native English speakers and available as online conversation partners.

Training Partnership apprenticeship program recognized as “Trailblazer” by Labor Department

The SEIU Healthcare NW Training Partnership’s registered apprenticeship program was one of 70 awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor for being a “Trailblazer and Innovator.” The recognition was given Aug. 1 in Washington, D.C., at an event with U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis to mark the 75th anniversary of the National Apprenticeship Act, which launched the Registered Apprenticeship program. The Training Partnership’s registered apprenticeship program is designed to increase the skills and opportunities of Home Care Aides by offering basic and advanced training, peer mentorship, and a Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship.
